COVID-19 cancelations and opportunities

Friends, family, and colleagues, it is with sadness that I share that the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra concerts for March 14, 28, and 29 and second flute audition on March 15, The Ohio Valley Symphony concert for March 21, the River Cities Symphony Orchestra concert for April 4, and the COFA Flute Festival for April 4 have all been postponed as of Thursday, March 12.

During this time of warranted social distancing, I stand with my organizations in their decisions to put the health of our artists and audiences first while acknowledging the financial hardship on the organizations and the individual musicians like myself. If you either hold a ticket or planned on purchasing a ticket for any of these events, I respectfully ask that you please donate the purchase price to the organization or ask that your ticket be credited towards the to-be-rescheduled event date, rather than asking for a refund.

I also request that you strongly consider supporting your favorite independent artists, friends, and colleagues during this time of unexpected financial loss by purchasing their albums or merchandise and by scheduling virtual sessions with them for lessons and coaching to offset their lost income. Beginning tomorrow and continuing through this pandemic, I will be sharing favorite live performance videos from my YouTube channel daily, and, if you enjoy the works, I appreciate you sharing them with friends and colleagues. Now, more than ever, our world needs the connective and healing power of music. Until we can share live performance and instruction again, be well!
