University of Charleston Flute Day

On November 13th and 14th, I am in residence at the University of Charleston in Charleston, West Virginia! On Wednesday, November 13th, I present "The Electroacoustic Flutist", a solo recital featuring works from my three solo albums and signature commissions: Roger Dannenberg's Separation Logic, Bruce Babcock's Soliloquy, Evan Williams's if/else, Elainie Lillios's Sleep's Undulating Tide, Josh Oxford's Bluez, Matthew Jackfert's Caffeined, and Judith Shatin's Penelope's Song. The 7:00 PM concert in Rigglemann Hall is free and open to the public. For UC's first-ever Flute Day on Thursday, November 14th, junior high, high school, collegiate, and local flutists are invited for a full day of free flute activities from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM including a mini-recital featuring works by Josh Oxford, Matt Jackfert, and Judith Shatin, my "warm-up fundamentals" class, my presentation on "meaningful practicing and rehearsing", chamber and flute choir coachings, a question and answer session, and a final flute choir performance. Thank you to John Christian for hosting me at UC!
