SUNY Fredonia residency
This winter, I'm thrilled to return to the State University of New York at Fredonia for a residency presented by the Ethos New Music Society! On Friday, January 31, I give my presentations "Flute Forward", a modern perspective on writing for flute, at 4:00 PM and "So, What's Next?", my presentation on musical entrepreneurship and building a portfolio career, at 5:15 PM. On Saturday, February 1, I teach a masterclass at 2:30 PM and give a solo recital at 8:00 PM.
The recital features commissioned electroacoustic works by Rob Deemer (The Road From Hana), Elainie Lillios (Sleep's Undulating Tide), Robert McClure (prowl), and Jennifer Bernard Merkowitz (Old Soul) in addition to solo flute works from in the company of music by Melissa D'Albora (Lava), Anthony Paul De Ritis (...no such thing as an empty space), and Christopher Jessup (Phases III. "Dampening"). All of the residency events are free and open to the public in Rosch Recital Hall. Many thanks to Dr. Rob Deemer for the generous invitation to return to Fredonia!
