Otterbein University Flute Choir Day
On Saturday, February 24, I host Otterbein University's 12th Flute Choir Day in Westerville, Ohio! This event is an opportunity for flutists grades 8 through adults, including collegiate students, to enrich their love of music. Flute Choir Day features guest artist George Pope as masterclass instructor, soloist, and guest conductor.
I look forward to sharing my "Warm-Up Workout" class and rehearsing and conducting our culminating concert featuring works by Beethoven (Ode to Joy, arranged by Bill Holcombe) Ian Clarke (Walk Like This), Jonathan Cohen (I May Be Down But The Jig is Up), Catherine McMichael (A Gaelic Offering), Mozart (Andante in C, arranged by Shaul Ben-Meir), and Rossini ("Finale" from William Tell Overture, arranged by Richard E. Thurston).
Running 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM, Flute Choir Day takes place in Riley Auditorium of the Battelle Fine Arts Center. Registration is $60, including all events, a t-shirt, and a boxed lunch, and closes on February 10, so register now to secure your spot!
Thank you to the Department of Music for supporting this event and to my mentor George Pope for being Flute Choir Day's first guest artist!
