June brings my sixth season as artist faculty for the Mostly Modern Festival in Saratoga Springs, New York! Join us on the beautiful campus of Skidmore College at the Arthur Zankel Music Center for three weeks of concerts featuring 20th- and 21st-Century music!
The Mostly Modern Ensemble (formerly the American Modern Ensemble) performs two concerts on Saturday, June 6 and Friday, June 12, both at 7:30 PM! June 6th's concert features the Apollo Duo of harpist Joseph Rebman and myself performing artistic director Robert Paterson's Book of Goddesses alongside world premiere chamber works by MMF participant composers Owen Axelberd, Olivia Jones, Nikolas Scheiber-Loeis, and Ian Wiese. June 12th's concert brings more world premieres by festival participant composers Sascha Burhop, Simon Gerlach, and Anh Kieu.
The Mostly Modern Orchestra also returns for three concerts! On Friday, June 5 at 7:30 PM, join us for Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna with Albany Pro Musica and conductor José Daniel Flores-Caraballo. On Sunday, June 14 at 4:00 PM, hear Robert Paterson's Celestial Harmonics with conductor David Amado, and on Saturday, June 20 at 7:30 PM, celebrate our "Season Finale" with Robert Paterson's Cocktail Concerto alongside conductor Aram Demarjian.
The MMF flute studio welcomes five fantastic flutists to the festival this year! Doctoral, masters, and artist diploma candidates, as well as professionals, hail from Carnegie Mellon University, the City University of New York, Duquesne University, the New Mexico Philharmonic, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
