Mostly Modern Festival
This June, I return for my fourth season as artist faculty at the Mostly Modern Festival in Saratoga Springs, New York!
This year, the American Modern Ensemble performs on Thursday, June 7 and Thursday, June 13 at 7:30 PM, featuring Robert Paterson's The Thin Ice of Your Fragile Mind and Relative Theory alongside five world premieres by participant composers Simon Alami, Francis Battah, Matthew Brown, Yuchan Li, and Yue Ming.
The Mostly Modern Orchestra returns with performances on Sunday, June 9 at 3:00 PM under David Amado featuring Robert Paterson's The Winds of Time, on Saturday, June 15 at 7:30 PM under Ankush Kumar Bahl featuring Robert Paterson's Symphony in Three Movements, and on Friday, June 21 at 7:30 PM under the legendary JoAnn Falletta featuring Copland's Appalachian Spring.
Additionally, I present "The Performer's Electroacoustic Primer", an seminar or performing with electronics featuring musical examples by Judith Shatin, Nancy Galbraith, and Elainie Lillios on Wednesday, June 19 at 4:30 PM, and harpist Joseph Rebman and I perform Robert Paterson's Pegasus for a special "Equestrian Evening" on Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 PM.
The MMF Flute Studio welcomes participants from doctoral and masters programs at the Manhattan School of Music, Bowling Green State University, West Virginia University, and Illinois State University, as well as professional musicians this season for weekly lessons and studio classes.
