Mostly Modern Festival
The Mostly Modern Festival is back in Saratoga Springs, New York this June, and I can't wait to return as the artist faculty member in flute! In addition to teaching seven incredible young artists and leading flute chamber music reading sessions and masterclasses, I look forward to performing with the American Modern Ensemble and the Mostly Modern Orchestra.
Join us for AME concerts on Friday, June 9 and Friday, June 16 to hear music by MMF faculty members Robert Paterson (Sextet), Samuel Adler (Acrostics), Christian Blaha (Nubes Concerto), and Mara Gibson (Rhythmic Mosaics) alongside 8 world premieres by participant composers Andreas Garcia, Matthew Hernandez, Noah Hertzman, Ahmed Karam, Olivia Jones, Simran Shah, Bill Taylor, and Ian Wiese. Purchase tickets for both of these 7:30 PM concerts on the campus of Skidmore College from the MMF website.
The Mostly Modern Orchestra performs on Sunday, June 11 at 3:00 PM featuring Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Danceswith conductor Aram Demirjian, on Saturday, June 17 at 7:30 PM featuring Piston's The Incredible Flutist with conductor JoAnn Falletta, and on Friday, June 23 at 7:30 PM featuring Britten's Four Sea Interludes with conductor David Amado. Join us for all of the new music fun!
