Fall 2023 orchestral performances
The 2023 - 2024 orchestral season starts next week with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra's "Opening Night Celebration" with new music director Maurice Cohn on Saturday, September 9! The 7:30 PM program at the Clay Center in Charleston, West Virginia features Beethoven Symphony No. 7 and reprises on Sunday, September 10 at 2:30 PM at Blennerhassett School in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra season continues with "Hometown Horn" on Saturday, October 14 featuring Sibelius Symphony No. 2at 7:30 PM at the Clay Center in Charleston and for "Mountain Stage with the WVSO" on Saturday, November 18, also at 7:30 PM at the Clay Center in Charleston.
The WVSO also presents six Young Peoples' Concerts on Tuesday, November 14 at the Clay Center in Charleston, on Wednesday, November 15 at Blennerhassett School in Parkersburg, and on Thursday, November 16 at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg. Visit the WVSO Kids website for information about these special programs and to get your Symphony Passport, which gives anyone age 12 and under (and their guest!) a free ticket to eight WVSO performances throughout the season!
The Ohio Valley Symphony season launches with "Around the Campfire" on Saturday, September 16 with conductor Luke Frazier on Saturday, September 16 at 7:30 PM at the Ariel Opera House in Gallipolis, Ohio for an audience-friendly and welcoming pops experience!
The OVS season continues on Saturday, November 4 with a "Salute to Our Veterans" with conductor Carl Topilow featuring a patriotic pops concert, also at 7:30 PM at the Ariel Opera House in Gallipolis.
