Fall 2022 orchestral concerts



Orchestral performing is back with a bang this fall!


The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra kicks off our 2022 - 2023 season with Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis under maestraJanna Hymes on Saturday, September 17, followed by "Around the World" on Saturday, November 19 under maestro Scott Woodard. Both concerts are at 7:30 PM at our Clay Center home in Charleston, West Virginia. Visit our website for information on all of our concerts, including six young peoples' concerts in three cities around the Mountain State, this fall!


On Saturday, September 10, the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh performs Messiaen's From the Canyons to the Stars. I look forward to playing alto flute for this monumental concert at 7:30 PM in the Eddy Theatre at Chatham University. Get your tickets, and join me in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for this not-to-be-missed performance!


Also in Pennsylvania, Resonance Works presents our long-awaited performances of Jorge Sosa's new opera I Am A Dreamer Who No Longer Dreamson Friday, October 14 at 8:00 PM and on Sunday, October 16 at 3:00 PM. Join us for this poignant work in a newly-expanded instrumentation at the Carnegie Library of Carnegie in Carnegie, Pennsylvania! Tickets are available on our website.


The River Cities Symphony Orchestra returns with a trio of concerts this fall, beginning with a free, outdoor pops concert on Friday, September 2 at 7:00 PM in front of the Peoples Bank Theatre in Marietta, Ohio, as part of Marietta Main Street's First Friday! On Saturday, October 1, the RSCO collaborates with Red Wanting Blue for an 8:00 PM concert, and on Sunday, October 30, the RCSO performs our first masterworks concert of the season featuring Ravel's Introduction and Allegro at 7:30 PM, both in Marietta, Ohio's Peoples Bank Theatre.


The Huntington Symphony Orchestra performs the first masterworks concert of their season on Saturday, September 24 at 7:30 PM in Huntington, West Virginia. I look forward to joining the orchestra for "Symphonic Thriller", featuring Dukas's The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain.
